Introduction to Ember Months Security

The Delta State Police Command has taken proactive measures to ensure the security of lives and property during the ember months and Yuletide season. This move is crucial as it aims to control the influx of people into the state, which often poses security challenges.

Strategic Security Meeting

To address these security concerns, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, convened a strategic security meeting with members of the Bankers’ Forum in the state. The meeting, which was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, focused on brainstorming ways to enhance the security of banks ahead of the festive period.

Security Measures for Banks

DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi emphasized the importance of bankers taking adequate security measures to prevent criminals from taking advantage of the festive season. He advised the installation of advanced and functional CCTV cameras in the banking environment to support the police in monitoring activities within the banks. This measure is expected to deter potential criminals and enhance the overall security of the banks.

Commitment to Fighting Crime

The Delta State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to the fight against crime and criminality in the state. The meeting with the Bankers’ Forum is seen as a significant step in the command’s proactive measures to ensure a crime-free ember month. The command’s efforts are geared towards protecting lives and property, especially during the festive season when criminal activities often surge.

Partnership with Central Bank of Nigeria
